Homeowners

The average homeowner may not know when they will require the services of a professional engineer. Below is a short list of instances for which you will need an engineer. If your situation is unique, please call for a free evaluation of whether or not you will need our services.

New Construction

If you are thinking about building a new home, you will be required by the building department to submit a set of structural drawings and calculations prepared by a licensed professional engineer.

Addition/Remodel

If you are planning on remodeling or adding on to your current property, chances are you will need the services of a licensed professional engineer.

When adding on to your current property, as with new construction you will be required by the building department to submit a set of structural drawings and calculations prepared by a licensed professional engineer.

If you are looking to remodel your current property feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to give you an evaluation free of charge to determine if you will need our services.

Purchase of a New Property

Purchasing a new property is enough of a headache in this tighter economy without having to worry about the structural integrity of a property that you really know very little about.

Home inspectors can give you a general idea of the condition of various structural systems at the time of inspection, but will also be the first to say that they are not experts in said areas.

Give yourself peace of mind. Hire an expert, a professional engineer, to give you a full evaluation and a written report to let you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into.

There are some incredible deals out there right now, but these deals can come at a price that may be very costly to you in the end. No one wants to be faced with the situation of moving into their dream home, and having to repair unforeseen structural issues that could have been addressed prior to closing, had a full structural evaluation been preformed.

Damage to Existing Property

No matter what the damage, chances are you will need the services of a licensed professional engineer to evaluate the extent of the damage and to determine an appropriate course of action.

Even if the damage appears to be minor, it is always in your best interest to seek professional advice, because if one structural component has been damaged others may be effected as well. In the end it all comes down to the old saying, "It’s always better to fix something right the first time."

If you are considering a project or if you have any questions please give us a call. We would be more than happy to sit down with you and look over your project and give you a free evaluation of whether or not we can be of service.
